Feral Swine carry disease and cause damage in several different ways. AACD is assisting in a cost share program to help landowners with domestic hogs or specialty crops build an exclusion fence on their property to keep feral swine from damaging their operations. This application process will be highly competitive and complete applications are required. Full requested funding was not received
"AACD Application for Feral Swine Exclusion Fence" is the application and consists of a 1 page questionnaire about your operation and 2 pages of instructions for completing the form.
A second file titled "AACD Feral Swine Exclusion Fence Standards and Specifications" outlines the required for fence installation. The fence consists of a fixed knot woven wire mesh fence with an electric fence offset.
Applications will be accepted starting May 15, 2024. Completed applications are to be emailed to exclfencearfs@att.net Questions are to be emailed to this address as well. If the application is funded, you will be notified and have 1 year for installation of fence. The fence will be inspected and must meet the standards and specifications before payment can be made. Payment rate is $2.85/linear foot. NRCS guidelines and procedures will be followed.
The period for accepting applications has been extended to June 30, 2024 and goes through August 15, 2024.
There is still funding available for the feral swine fence exclusion project. If your Conservation District has swine operations or specialty crops with feral swine issues please encourage them to apply on the Arkansas Association of Conservation District web page. Application and Fence specifications are on the web page as well. Round 2 of applications will be open June 30 through August 15, 2024.
