Upcoming Grant Opportunities for Conservation Districts for FY19

Urban Agriculture Conservation Initiative

NACD has a new agreement with NRCS to provide another NACD Urban Agriculture Conservation Initiative, providing for grants to 18-20 conservation districts. The Urban and Community Resource Policy Group (RPG) is providing guidance for this third round of projects. NACD staff worked with NRCS to get the plan of work, criteria, timelines, etc. finalized. An announcement with those details was released Tuesday with an application deadline of December 31. See the following link for the RFP and other details. http://www.nacdnet.org/about-nacd/what-we-do/urban-and-community/

A briefing webinar was held November 15th for interested conservation district applicants. The webinar recording and presentation PDF is available for viewing at: www.nacdnet.org/general-resources/webinars/ (click on FY2019, and then on the November 2018 topic title for the recording and/or presentation name for the PDF).

Technical Assistance Grants

NACD also has an agreement for fiscal 2019 to provide a second round of Technical Assistance Grants to conservation districts, state associations, state agencies, and RC&D's to carry out specific assistance for three programs: Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP), Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and Conservation Technical Assistance (CTA). As with the first round of grants, state and territory partner leaders will be asked to coordinate and provide priority applications. NACD staff are working with NRCS to develop final details, and an announcement on eligibility and procedures to apply is planned by the end of 2018. Application details will be placed on the NACD website at the same time. Stay tuned for additional details!

Conservation Planning Bootcamp

As a reminder, the dates for FY 2019 Conservation Planning Boot Camp sessions have now been announced and NACD is accepting applications for attendance at all seven scheduled sessions. The deadline for applications to the first session is February 5, which also means that interested conservation district employees need to begin preparing now so as to have the required credentials. Expenses to attend will be reimbursed. Please consider this opportunity and take steps now to ensure employee eligibility if you intend to apply. The details of scheduling, prerequisites to attend, and application information is on the NACD website at http://www.nacdnet.org/general-resources/conservation-planning-boot-camp/

Please let Jeremy Peters or your NACD Regional Representative know if you have questions or if you need additional information on any of these opportunities.
